How do I book my wedding date with LG Artistry?
To reserve your date with LG Artistry, a deposit and a signed contract is required. This deposit does go toward your bridal services. No date is held without a deposit. We work on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once a wedding is booked, we will always honor that date for you. Contact us to book your date today!
Do you travel?
We will travel to your home, hotel, or venue anywhere on Long Island, & beyond. Travel fees may apply, depending on the location.
When should I book my trial?
If your date is already secured with us, then it is recommended to book your Bridal Preview (trial) 3-6 months before your wedding day. If you prefer to do a Bridal Preview before booking your date, then it is recommended to inquire about scheduling ASAP. Wedding dates are first-come-first-serve and only held with a contract and deposit.
Do I need a trial?
Trials are not always necessary. But we do recommend doing a trial so that together you can perfect the flawless bridal look you’ve imagined. Deciding on your look ahead of time helps the morning of the wedding to run smoothly and efficiently. It also gives you an opportunity to be sure that we are the right fit for you!
When and where do the trials take place?
Your makeup artist travels to you for the trial. There is a fee for the trial that is not associated with the price for the wedding. It is a separate service. Since the weekends are reserved for weddings, we typically book Bridal Previews during the week. However, if there is a specific date that you have in mind, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
How far in advance should I book LG Artistry?
Our calendar books 1-2 years in advance. It is imperative that you book as early as possible in order to guarantee your date is reserved, especially if you are getting married on a Saturday.
Does Lauren do everyone’s makeup in my bridal party?
Lauren does her best to personally take as many clients as possible in the allotted timeframe. However, it is not guaranteed that every bridal party member will receive services by Lauren personally. For bridal parties of 6 or less, Lauren is usually able to accommodate everyone. (Depending upon the timeframe given.) For bridal parties that are larger, Lauren will bring a trusted, experienced assistant, at no additional cost to you! But rest assured, her team of makeup artists all have the same style, professionalism, and talent.
How much time does it take to do my makeup?
It typically takes about 30-45 minutes per face, depending on any add-ons (i.e individual lashes or tattoo coverage). The bride tends to take a little longer so that Lauren can make sure everything is set to perfection. (Usually about an hour and a half.) Please send your timeline in advance so we can ensure that your day runs smoothly.
Do I need to supply my own makeup or lashes?
No, we always supply all of the makeup used. If you have specific makeup you would like used, you may bring that. If you have any allergies or sensitivity, let us know when booking and we will do our best to accommodate you. The only product that we strongly recommend each client bring is their own lipstick, so they may be able to touch up their lips with the same color.
How can I be sure that the makeup will last all day and night?
We use only the highest quality products. We prep the skin, applies the makeup, and sets everything in place perfectly to ensure that nothing moves. Our brides ALWAYS say that their makeup lasts until the next day! Majority of the products that we use are transfer-resistant and water-resistant, which means it won’t budge.
A tip to making sure your makeup stays put is to BLOT the happy wedding tears, rather than wiping them away. It is also recommend that the bride bring her lipstick with her for touch ups throughout the day. Lipstick is the only thing that may need to be touched up. While most brides don’t need it, you can also keep some blotting powder with you for any oil or sweat. If you are concerned about your makeup moving, we do offer a Touch-Up Service. Contact Lauren for more information about this service.
How should I prepare to have my makeup done?
It is asked that each client have a clean, make-up free face before sitting in the makeup chair. Skin preparation begins with a good skincare routine, especially before your wedding. If you’d like any recommendations, we would be happy to help!
